About the Role
We are seeking motivated Lab Technician / Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA) to support daily laboratory operations and research activities in our chemistry laboratories. The successful candidate will work closely with scientists and project managers to ensure efficient laboratory workflows, safe working conditions, and reliable analytical support.
This role combines laboratory maintenance, chemical handling, analytical sample preparation, and purification work, making it ideal for candidates who enjoy hands-on laboratory work in a collaborative research environment.
Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Operations
- Open and close laboratory facilities and check utilities (e.g., nitrogen, water, ventilation)
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized laboratory environment
- Manage laboratory waste and solvent disposal
Laboratory Maintenance
- Operate dishwashers and manage glassware distribution
- Maintain laboratory equipment (e.g., rotovaps, pumps, drying ovens)
- Perform routine cleaning and safety checks
Inventory & Chemical Management
- Receive chemicals and verify deliveries
- Maintain chemical and consumable inventories
- Monitor and refill solvents and laboratory supplies
Analytical Support
- Prepare samples for NMR, qNMR, and other analytical measurements
- Prepare HPLC solvents and support analytical workflows
- Perform TLC analysis and other basic analytical tasks
Chemical Operations
- Assist with reaction setup and reaction monitoring
- Perform work-ups and extractions
- Support purification processes such as flash chromatography or distillation
Advanced Tasks (depending on experience)
- Operate HPLC systems and support analytical measurements
- Conduct purification using preparative chromatography
- Support larger-scale reactions and advanced laboratory procedures
Qualifications
Education
- Completed training as a Chemical Technical Assistant (CTA)
or - Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
Experience
- Experience in an organic or analytical chemistry laboratory is preferred
- Familiarity with techniques such as TLC, chromatography, NMR, or HPLC is an advantage

Language Requirements
- German: Professional working proficiency
- English: Upper-intermediate (advanced intermediate) — ability to understand procedures, documentation, and communicate in an international research environment
